A.
Belt Conveyor Systems
EDC's expertise is in the area of belt conveyor
design. This includes many innovative projects,
including overland conveyor systems. EDC has been
involved in the layout, equipment selection and
design of complete power plant mine and storage
facility material handling systems including belt
conveyors, crushers, vibrating feeders, screens,
etc.
B-1.
Self-Unloading Ships and Barges
EDC, Inc. designs material handling equipment for
'gravity type self-unloaders' and also specialized
vessels handling extremely corrosive and non
free-flowing materials. EDC, Inc. has designed
self-unloading systems for vessels larger than Panamax size,
up to 225,000 DWT.
B-2.
Topping Off or Lightening Vessels
EDC, Inc. pioneered the concept of 'topping off'
or 'lightening' vessels where severe draft
restrictions exist. Vessels routinely perform
these operations off shore in Argentina and on the
exit of Rio Orinoco, (Serpents Mouth), Venezuela.
C.
Off-Shore Terminals
EDC, Inc. was involved in the conceptional
investigations and/or design of off-shore
terminals at Delaware Bay (U.S.A.), Quinhuangdao
(China), Korea, India and Venezuela.
D.
Shiploaders, Loading and Receiving Port Installation
EDC, Inc. has designed many ship loading and
receiving port installations for various
commodities in the U.S.A., Canada, Bahamas, Japan,
Korea ,Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina.
E.
Floating Factory Projects
EDC, Inc. was involved in the design of the
material handling components required for the
floating pulp mill built in Japan and then
permanently positioned along the Jari River in
Brazil.
F.
EDC Patented Railroad Loading Spout System
EDC, Inc. has designed and furnished several RR
car and truck loading spout systems for handling
toxic and/or dusty materials. All hydraulically
operated patented system operates up to 8 RR
spouts from one central control station with one
electric motor. System can load 100 ton RR car in
less than 45 seconds with 8 spouts.
G.
Railcar Unloading Stations
EDC, Inc. has designed and furnished a unique dual
rail car receiving hopper with dual weigh belt
feeders. Weigh feeders automatically adjust
material throughput to compensate for a reduced
capacity in the other weigh feeder. The result is
an ability to maintain combined capacity and a
minimization of rail car unloading time.
H.
Barge Haul System
EDC, Inc. has designed and furnished a
hydraulically operated barge haul system that
automatically tensions or let out rope to properly
keep the barge in place. Water variations and
volume of material in barges are automatically
accounted for without operator involvement.
I.
Stackers
EDC, Inc. has designed and furnished a great
variety of custom designed belt conveyor
stackers. The various types of stackers
include fixed, or radial with either radial
R.R. track or rubber tired wheels, single or
twin boom, traveling - fixed height or with
luffing (hoisting boom) and/or single boom
slewing @ 180 Degrees, manually or unmanned automated
blending stacker. Designs include hydraulic
cylinder or wire rope hoisting, friction or
chain traverse drives, electric or hydraulic
boom slewing with ring gear, with or without
telescopic chute at boom discharge.
J. Reclaimers
EDC, Inc. has designed and furnished rail
mounted reversible bucket wheel bridge type
reclaimer for blending systems with rail spans
of 85 ft. and 110 ft. up to 1000 TPH. Units
can be designed for unmanned automatic
continuous operation. Other reclaimers include
scraper type for blending of limestone at a
cement plant. Also drag scraper conveyor
for reclaim of wood chips from a storage pile.
